New Music from Austra & Dead Beat Project

Tonight on Echoes, Austra & Dead Beat Project.

File:Austra - Olympia album cover.jpgNew music from Austra, the Canadian band fronted by the powerful voice of Katie Stelmanis, from their new album Olympia, I love her voice.  So many singers we love on Echoes barely project beyond the microphone, but I always feel like you could hear Katie Stelmanis shouting out in the fields.  I’ve also got a French musician named Olivier Goyet who records as Dead Beat Project.  He released his first album on a label called Aesthetic Death, which wouldn’t ’t seem to bode well.  But his music is melodic electronica with epic dimensions.  His new CD is the soundtrack for a dance project called Samsara.

Below, watch Austra’s “Hurt Me Now” from their 2013 album, Olympia.
